The Trust

The History of HIST

The Hallaton and Isabella Stenning Trust was formed in 1896 by the amalgamation of the Hallaton Charity that was governed by a scheme, for the benefit of the poor and to maintain and improve the village water supply, lighting and footpaths; and The Isabella Stenning Charity founded by direction of the Will of Isabella Stenning, a member of the Price-Dent family who died in 1915 and is buried in Hallaton Cemetery.

It also includes the former William Dent Charity and Catherine Parker Charity.

These original charities were set up before the advent of Parish Councils, the National Health Service and social security benefits so necessarily had to be updated to meet the needs of today.
